Blue Valley Sod is a family owned business which has been in the Beatrice area since 1965. Leonard Bird started this business as a “hobby” while he was guidance counselor at Beatrice Senior High. Ron has been in the business since the beginning even while getting his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska and his masters in theology from Dallas Theological Seminary.
